Fukrey’s Fun Journey Continues: A Review (Fukrey 3)

About ten years ago, the movie Fukrey 3 gave us a glimpse of the silly adventures of two school buddies, Choochaa and Hunny. They had one aim: college fun. Their friends got dragged into their crazy ideas, leading to total chaos. Now, in the third part of this series, these lazybones, or “fukras”, and the film itself, have bigger dreams.

At the start, there’s a fun song that sums up the first two movies. It’s cool and it sets the mood while the opening credits of “Fukrey 3” play. The characters we love are back. Choocha (played by Varun Sharma) is still the silly one, while Hunny (by Pulkit Samrat) is the brains guiding him. Panditji (Pankaj Tripathi) lightens the mood with jokes, while Bholi Panjaban (Richa Chadha) is thinking big. Lali Halwai (Manjot Singh) stands out when he’s making his perfect tea. Fazal isn’t around much but pops up in a sweet short scene.

Bholi is now moving with some heavy hitters, leaving her bad past behind. Her goal? Win the Delhi elections and become a big deal. But, when Choocha starts getting more popular than her, problems start. This sets up a funny rivalry between the gang and Bholi, who now has two huge bodyguards adding to the humor.

Pankaj Tripathi clearly steals the show, delivering the funniest lines. Choocha, or Dilip Singh, though, remains the heart of the story. The first half is a mixed bag of laughs, but there’s a twist before the break that hints at some seriousness.

The latter part of the film takes a more serious tone, focusing on real issues in Delhi, like water problems and the battles against water sellers. There are moments that touch your heart, like a kid standing up against a water truck and people rushing into a water park in desperation. Through the quirky lens of Fukrey, the movie shows the growing crisis in the city.

Putting aside the intense parts, ” Fukrey 3 ” mostly uses simple, goofy humor. Is it just an easy way to get a laugh? Even if some scenes don’t make sense and are super silly, they still make you laugh.

The movie series, which introduced us to a cool and smart female boss, could’ve given her character more depth this time. She had some cool moments, like wearing a scorpion accessory with a wedding dress. But the movie mostly focuses on silly antics.
